Ep07: Domestic Violence -- Danger A t Home For countles s women, entering married lif e often mea ns the beginning of a stressful, violent existence . Beating one's wife seems to be ingraine d in many men' ;s mindsets as th e appropriate behaviour for a strong male, but the consequences are misery for the w ife and chi ldren, and often a broken, unha ppy home. The concep t of domestic violen ce is bas ed on the notion of patriarchy, which nee ds to be converted into equa lity. Ep0 8:Toxic Foo d - Poison On Ou r Plate? For decad es our foo d and water hav e be en contamin ated by p owerful, harmful pest icides which have been promoted as necessar y for better agricultural output. But the re ality is that we don';t need p esticides for better yield, a nd their use is not only deadl y for health but results in e xpensive farming method s. Th e solution is to adopt organic farming, which is p ossible and profitable, as the state of Sikk im has sh own. Ep09:Alcohol Abuse - Think Before You Drink A lcohol consumptio n is ass ociate d with having fu n and en joyi ng life. But excessive, irr esponsible drin king takes away t hat very life itself. Many al cohol addicts have climbed back to normal life, proving that it is possible to liv e happily without alcoh ol. Help for alcoholics is available, free , at Alcoholics Anonymous. Ep10:Untouchability - Dignity for All For a countr y which has been independent for 65 years, i t is a matte r of sha me that w e have not yet shaken off t he tyranny of caste-bas ed d iscrimina tion. Countless people have to live in deg rading cond itions, children are un able to go to schoo l, empl oymen t avenues are close d, and ev en e ducation does not open bigoted min ds. Ep1 1:Old Age -- Sunset Years , Sunshine Life Ou r parents are the ones who have brought us up and made us what we ar e. At leas t ou t of considera tion for that muc h, w e should be go od a nd kind towards th em. But c ountless people all o ver Indi a don't think so, goin g by the n umbers of abando ned old people taken in at old age homes.
