  • It doesn’t take long to delete your Facebook account on either desktop or mobile.
  • Before you delete your Facebook account, you’ll have the chance to download all your photos, posts, and other data.
  • It can take up to 90 days for Facebook to fully erase all of your data, and if you try to log in within 30 days, you can choose to restore your account.
  • Visit Business Insider’s Tech Reference library for more stories.

Whatever your reason is for deleting your Facebook account, accomplishing the task is a bit easier said than done. Facebook has become so ingrained in our culture, that the prospect of deleting your account can be daunting.

Before deleting your account, you should remember that many apps operate by logging into your Facebook account. It’s important to make sure to sever all those external connections with Facebook, so nothing crashes unexpectedly once your account is gone. Oftentimes, this will mean creating new accounts within your apps.

Last, you’ll likely want to archive all of your photos, videos, and exchanges since you won’t be able to access those once your account is gone. Luckily, Facebook will give you a chance to do this before you delete.

Once you’ve made sure you’re prepared for a life without Facebook, here’s how to delete your Facebook account using your browser or the mobile app.

How to delete your Facebook account from a desktop browser

This is likely your best option since it best allows you to combine the data download process and the actual deletion. But for those who have already downloaded their data, it’s on par with the mobile experience. Here’s how to get it done through your browser:

1. Log into your account.

2. Click the down carrot in the top-right corner and click “Settings

Best Prime Day 2020 headphone deals: Save $100 on Bose QuietComfort 35 II, $50 on AirPods Pro and more

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide on everything you need to know and how to make sure you get the best deal.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 is officially here and runs through Wednesday, Oct. 14. Between Amazon’s hefty savings and similar sales from Walmart and Best Buy, now is a great time to be on the hunt for any type of headphones, from wireless ear buds to epic over-the-ear noise cancelling headsets with comfy ear cups..

So far, we’re seeing deep discounts on Sony headphones that we’ve traditionally seen around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sony has lowered prices on last year’s WF-1000XM3, as well as the newer WF-SP800N, which is water-resistant and features noise cancellation. The entry-level WF-XB700 Extra Bass is at the lowest price we’ve ever seen, $78. We’re also seeing Apple headphones return to a low price of $199 (even as a new AirPods Studio over-ear headphone remains rumored).

We expect to see more amazing headphone discounts throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, so if you’re in the market for a specific type of headphone, say ones with Bluetooth connectivity, noise cancellation or true wireless earbuds, keep checking back.

Note that you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member to get these exclusive deals.

New iPhones were unveiled Tuesday, and they will come without wired headphones in the box for the first time ever. In the meantime, Apple’s current top of the line noise-canceling true wireless headphones are now back to selling at $199. That’s still pricey, but it’s $50 off what you’ll pay at the Apple Store, and $20 less than their usual price at Amazon.

Some of the best Samsung deals for Prime Day are on the phones we know and love and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is a good example. While the Galaxy S20 and the S20 Plus have seen significant discounts at times since the release of the range, the Ultra has tended to buck the trend and held at or around it’s eye-watering $1,400 price tag. However, it’s now on offer for $1,050 ($350 off).

Hit the button below to check out the deal.

The recently released Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are also seeing price drops. The Note 20 is available for $763.00, and the Note 20 Ultra 5G is down to $1,049.99 (25% off).

Haenisch: Dependable internet access might save rural Texas – Opinion – Austin American-Statesman

As Texas educators redesigned teaching on the fly in the spring of 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the frustration level among educators and parents was high. For families there was the stress of being together 24/7 along with the day-to-day issues of schooling: homework, inconsistent internet and, in many cases, no internet at all, establishing a routine for home-school, and too many more to count.

The stories educators can tell about the challenges remote learning presented for them and their students. Talk about blended learning – schools became responsible for producing paper packets with lessons for those without internet or computers and online lessons for students with internet connectivity.

Many parents and educators can tell of slow internet where at times students might watch a screen with a spinning circle for 45 minutes waiting for the internet to connect. A lesson planned for 30 minutes might take hours to complete as the signal would fade in and out, and the child would still have three more classes to complete.

The Texas Association of Community Schools is an organization that works with small and mid-sized school districts in Texas. While our members come from all parts of the state, it is fair to say that the majority of our members are from rural communities. The pandemic has been cruel for all Texans, but especially to those in rural areas. Let me tell you why:

According to Connected Texas, approximately 300,000 rural Texas families do not have access to broadband internet connectivity which is defined as a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speed. What does that mean to the 300,000 families without broadband internet connectivity? It means that even if a school district provided a laptop or Chromebook with a hot spot to every school-aged

Sony Change PS5 Trophies, Microsoft Touts The Series X, & Bungie Reveals Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotics | Save State

In this video, Persia talks about a since-deleted blurb from a French PlayStation Blog post that mentions a trophy tracking system coming to the PS5 along with additional updates coming to the PS4 this week. This means you’ll now know your exact progress for individual trophies for compatible PS5 games. Other trophy system changes include an update to icons and the level cap being upped to 999. Current trophy levels will scale to a comparable level after the update and will not impact any trophies you’ve already earned.

Persia also talks about Microsoft poking fun at Sony after its teardown video, because you’ll have to do a bit of adjusting to turn the console on its side. A cheeky tweet from Xbox showed how you can simply rotate the Series X onto its side because of its box shape.

Lastly, Persia talks about some of the Exotic weapons and gear that were revealed for Destiny 2: Beyond Light. The Cloudstrike, Lament, Dawn Chorus, and Icefall Mantel are just a few of the new items featured, and they all have their own special effects that benefit their respective classes.

This is your Save State for Wednesday, October 7th.
