Looking for the new iPhone 12 on Verizon? The carrier has some deals if you meet the right criteria.

Fresh off of the announcement that it has turned on its new 5G nationwide network, the nation’s largest carrier on Tuesday announced its deals for Apple’s latest iPhones. As with prior years, those who are switching to Verizon will be able to get an iPhone 12 for free when they trade-in “select” phones and sign up for either a Do More, Play More or Get More unlimited plan.

Those who already have Verizon will be able to get the iPhone 12 for as low as $15 per month for 24-months when financing on Verizon’s device installment plans and trading in “select” phones. You will also need to be on one of those newer premium unlimited plans or the older Above or Beyond unlimited plans.

The exact phones eligible for trade-in were not immediately known, though if you have an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus you can save $250 off a new iPhone when you trade-in, purchase the new phone online and have the right unlimited plan.

Verizon’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro go on preorder on Friday before going on sale the following week.

The deals, while not as aggressive as those offered by rival AT&T, come after Verizon took a prominent role during Apple’s iPhone event. The carrier’s CEO, Hans Vestberg, appeared on stage during the virtual keynote to announce its new nationwide 5G network with numerous Apple speakers referencing Verizon and its

Apple bundles free three-month Apple Arcade trial with new device purchases

Anyone who buys a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod touch, or Apple TV after October 22nd gets free three-month trial of Apple Arcade, Apple has announced. Apple’s games subscription service normally costs $4.99 a month, and gives you access to over 100 downloadable games with no ads or in-game purchases.

Apple has long used lengthy free trial periods to advertise its subscription services. When it launched Apple TV Plus last year it gave customers a whole year of the service for free with the purchase of an eligible device, and recently extended these trials by up to three months. Three months is also the standard trial period for Apple Music. Until now, however, Apple has only offered a one month free trial of Apple Arcade with new sign-ups.

The company’s year-long Apple TV Plus trial is also continuing this year, Apple says, though 9to5Mac notes that you can’t claim the Apple TV Plus trial again if you already claimed it last year. Both trials must be claimed within three months of activating an eligible device, and only one Apple Arcade trial can be claimed per Family Sharing group. However, each family group allows you to share a trial with up to five people. In both cases, the $4.99 per month subscription enables automatically at the end of the trial period.

Later this year Apple will start offering a new bundle of subscription services called Apple One. This will include subscriptions to Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, Apple News Plus, and iCloud storage in bundles ranging in price from $14.95 to $29.95 a month.

Sorry, No More Free Trials

Illustration for article titled Netflix Thinks Its So Great You Dont Even Need to Check Out How Great It Is

If you haven’t yet subscribed to any of the major streaming services, first I have to ask: How have you avoided them? Second: You’ve missed the boat when it comes to trying the biggest names for free.

Streaming giant Netflix quietly did away with its 30-day trial in the U.S., according to CNET, just like Disney+, which stopped offering free trials back in June. The U.S. is not the only market where Netflix has decided to end its free trial. The company ended trial periods in Mexico and several other countries as far back as two years ago.

“Free trials are not available, but you can still sign up and take advantage of all Netflix has to offer,” Netflix’s free trial help page now reads. In a statement to CNET, a Netflix spokesperson said the company is currently looking at differen marketing promotions in the U.S. to “attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience.”

If you’re disappointed, that’s understandable. Who doesn’t like to get something for free, even if it’s for a limited time? If you’re planning on signing up for your own Netflix account, you’ll need to shell out a minimum of $9 month.

This might have to do with the fact that Netflix is currently offering specific TV shows and movies to watch for free, which it began doing in August. Current free titles include Stranger Things, Bird Box, and When They See Us, which, honestly, are worth watching whether you want to pay for Netflix or not.

It’s also worth noting that several other streaming services still offer free trials. Hulu offers one month free, while CBS All Access, Shudder, and

Gap shoppers order hundreds of pounds worth of clothes for free due to website glitch

GAP shoppers claim they were able to order hundreds of pounds worth of clothes for free due to a website glitch.

Instead of paying full price on items, an error on the Gap website saw customers only charged a £4 delivery fee.

Hotukdeals users shared screengrabs of their orders which showed only delivery had been charged

The glitch was reported on deals website Hotukdeals with customers sharing screengrabs of their orders.

One customer said they placed an order for £60 while only paying postage, while another shopper said they ordered £85 worth of clothes.

Separately, one person said the glitch worked on orders up to £200, although another customer said they ordered £214 worth of goods.

But some shoppers were quick to shame other people for taking advantage of the deal when the retail industry is struggling.

The high street has been under threat from mass job cuts and store closures after non-essential businesses were ordered to close for three months to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Dire figures published in August 2020 showed 43,000 retail jobs had been axed since the start of lockdown with more roles feared to go when the furlough scheme ends this month.

In June 2020, Gap said it’s lost almost £1billion since the start of lockdown.

The company reported a loss of £740million in the three months to May, compared with a profit of £203million in the same period last year.

One person said: “Does anyone understand what is happening in the world companies going under people not having jobs? I am sorry but this is not the time to take
