PS5 Preorder Info: More Console Preorders Available Tomorrow

In the wake of the announcement of the PS5 launch date and price points, the long, tense search for a preorder has begun. Launching November 12 at $500 for the standard console and $400 for the digital edition, the PS5 went up for preorder right after the recent PS5 event, and since then, stock has sold out at all major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Target.

GameStop had a second wave of PS5 preorders available to preorder on September 25, both online and in stores. Once again, the retailer had a virtual queue. Multiple GameSpot staff members waited in the queue for more than an hour without any success, so online preorders apparently sold out very quickly once again. GameStop issued an update on Twitter confirming that PS5 stock sold out once again. This included a starter bundle that came with Demon’s Souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate edition, PS Plus, an extra controller for $770.

This week, Antonline might be your best bet for scoring a preorder. The retailer has announced it’s having a new round of PS5 preorders starting tomorrow, October 13 at 11 AM PT / 1 PM ET. They’re likely to go in a flash, so you may want to be at your computer at that time.

Which retailers will charge you upfront?

You should know that retailers handle preorders differently when it comes to charging your credit card or PayPal. Amazon doesn’t charge your card until the product ships, while GameStop waits until five days before shipment. Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and Sam’s Club will place an authorization hold on your credit card. Though your card won’t actually be charged until the

Trophy System Gets A Makeover Ahead Of New Console Release

KEY POINTS

  • The 12-year-old Trophies system on PlayStation Network is getting a makeover
  • Changes include faster progression in lower levels, scale expansion, and higer value for platinum trophies
  • Players will get subtle notices when they are close to jumping a level

Before the PlayStation 5 era begins in November, the PlayStation Network is reformatting its Trophies system that has been around since 2008.

What has been a one to 100 scale for the past 12 years will be expanded to one to 999. To entice more participation, moving up in the lower levels will come at a faster pace.

Another significant upgrade is the increase in the value of platinum trophies. When players collect every trophy offered in a game, they are awarded a platinum trophy. Collected platinum trophies will now have a higher value when leveling up.

For gamers who are worried that their previously earned trophies from the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 would fall by the wayside, Sony has reassured everyone that that would not be the case. Those trophies will be carried over to the new system, as well.

A post on the PlayStation blog indicated that “the new Trophy levels will be reflected in all locations that Trophy levels are shown including past systems, PS App, and My PlayStation.” The trophy level icon on the PS5 and PS App will be subsequently updated in the future.

There will be 10 different icons and tiers to mark the new ranking system. The Bronze tier covers levels 1-299. Silver will cover 300-599, followed by Gold at 600-998. The Platinum tier will award true dedication for reaching level 999.

To get players more excited as they approach a new level, Sony noted that there will be some kind of marking on the badges to indicate just how close

How To Speed Up Home Internet

  • Anyone wondering how to speed up your home internet without dropping a ton of cash on an overpriced mesh Wi-Fi system will be happy to hear that it’s much easier and less expensive than you think.
  • If you’re sick of slow internet speeds and “buffering” on your computer, TV, or video game console, there’s a simple device that will be a game-changer for you.
  • Before you do something drastic like buying a new router or a pricey mesh Wi-Fi system, check out the TP-Link AV1000 Gigabit Powerline Internet Kit, which is just $49.99 on Amazon.

When you’re trying to watch a video or stream a game, slow internet speeds and buffering can be your worst nightmare. It’s so aggravating, but it happens all the time. What you might not realize though, is that there’s a wonderfully easy way for most people to fix this problem.

A lot of the time, it’s your Wi-Fi connection that is the main source of the issue. Sometimes there’s interference, or if you live in a big household it could be a congestion problem. It could also be an issue with range, and you can get away with a cheap fix by picking up a Wi-Fi range extender. The best-selling TP-Link model on Amazon is on sale right now for just $19.99, or you can go all-out with TP-Link’s fastest extender ever for $89.99.

But if you want the best possible fix with the fastest and most reliable connection, you need to ditch wireless on your device and switch to a wired internet connection. Of course, no one wants to spend hundreds of dollars installing Ethernet, and we would never suggest that. Why bother when you can instantly transform any regular old power outlet
